Hi everyone and Happy Easter Weekend!
Can you believe we are already coming to a close on March and headed toward April? It's amazing how quickly time comes and goes!
I am super excited about getting this post out to all of you this week because 1- it contains an incredible Easter Brunch cocktail created by my girl Anne (@thehomehandcrafted) and 2- I get to show off her amazing work.
I "met" Anne recently through Instagram and immediately fell in love with her photos and blog posts. She lives in Denver, CO and loves all things crafts, cocktails, and well.. Denver ;) After seeing so much wonderful content from her, I had to have her here on NicoleRauch.com. Her website has a little bit of something for everyone, and although it's currently under construction, you can still subscribe and receive some wise words from Anne in your inbox each week. So, without further adieu.... here is the cocktail recipe she created for our readers!
Just in time for Easter brunch, here is the perfect Spring cocktail. Because, let's be honest - the best thing about brunch is the booze.
Don't let the word "cocktail" intimidate you. Of course, cocktails can be complex and precise, but honestly - who has time for that when they're entertaining? In my mind, a signature cocktail should be easy to whip up when company arrives so you can get right to enjoying your guests and having a good time.
When crafting a cocktail recipe, I usually keep a few things in mind:
- ingredients must be easy to find (and somewhat affordable)
- ingredient list is short (less than five is ideal)
- the end result is appealing to the eye (cuz it's gotta be cute)
This "peach pear champagne cocktail" has a fruity, but not overly sweet taste and would pair well with any brunch staple. It's slightly blush color makes this cocktail a great springtime sipper and the bubbles give it an extra kick. Although, beware - this cocktail packs quite the punch, so drink responsibly!! (Or don't, but please order a Lyft.)
Here's how to make this pretty spring cocktail:
- 2.5 ounces of Simply Peach
- 1.5 ounces of pear vodka (I used Burnett's - I know, so college.)
- dry champagne or sparkling wine (the drier the better)
- 1 lemon
Stir the Simply Peach and pear vodka together and pour into a coupe glass or other cocktail glass. Top off with champagne and a squeeze of lemon juice. Add a lemon slice for garnish, et voila! For a little extra touch of fancy, I like to coat the rim of my glasses in sugar first. To do this, simply rim the glass with lemon juice and gently dip the rim of the glass into a plate of sugar. So easy and a great finishing touch! This recipe makes one drink, but to serve more, adjust quantities accordingly.
